Our Teachers
Hello! I am a Christ follower, a mother of 2 beautiful girls, a teacher, and the owner/director of Ohana Preschool & Wonderschool. I graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development. I have worked with children of all ages for over 10 years. Besides helping out around the church, I have volunteered and taught in different elementary schools as well as preschools.

Philosophy
Our onboarding philosophy entails using an emergent curriculum that adapts to the interests and needs of each group of children. Additionally, at Ohana Preschool & Wonderschool, we incorporate the comforts of home in a classroom environment to facilitate a smooth transition into kindergarten. Each day consists of a blend of music, academic activities, play, and exploration to support children’s holistic development in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive aspects. We emphasize maintaining a low student to teacher ratio to ensure individual attention and encouragement for every child to reach their full potential.
Location
Ohana Preschool & Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, spacious single family home near Panama Park. Located close to 82 freeway and Lawrence Expressway, our home is just a few blocks from Golfland!
Children will spend time outside everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. We love getting outside and playing!
At Ohana Preschool & Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
About our program
Welcome to our Ohana! We borrowed the word Ohana from the Hawaiian culture since it had such a beautiful meaning. Ohana in the Hawaiian culture means family, not only blood related, but it includes friends, neighbors, and community. Our goal here at Ohana is just that. Ohana Preschool is a place where students can be themselves and feel loved, accepted and respected by each other.
Ohana is designed as a Preschool for ages 5 months to 5 years as well as an after school care. It is designed to be this way because:
-
It is convenient for parents with different aged children
-
It stimulates the younger children when they see interactions among the older children and it sparks their interest in learning when older children are exploring.
-
It helps the older children mature in a different way. They are able to develop responsibility, empathy, communication skills and much more.
We often encourage the older kids to help and teach the younger children some of the things they are learning. There have been many studies that show that teaching is the best way to learn! In order to teach them, they need to understand the skills they are teaching, and while teaching, they will develop confidence in that area.
