Hello! I am Belle Laid, the founder of Wombat Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 10 years of experience working with young children. I am a professional, highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic person with great passion for early childhood education. I have studied and completed my Diploma in Children’s services and my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education in my home country of Australia. I was working as the team leader in a preschool in Australia for about six years. My husband and I moved to the bay area almost five years ago, and loved it and have decided to stay and build roots here. I was working as a nanny for two families whilst living here in the bay. I have built an amazing relationship with them and are still very close to this day!

“Belle is great with kids”
-Renee
“Belle is amazing with our 14-month-old son. We can already tell he loves to be there and can see a huge improvement in his communication skills. Belle is very attentive and fun. You can tell she is very experienced with children and knows how to help them thrive. They get a lot of outdoor time which is wonderful. Belle will send us plenty of pictures and updates throughout the day which makes us feel so happy and connected while we are at work. Belle is also very understanding and really cares about parent concerns and input. The location of the school is very nice. Not too far from the freeway which is great for our commute but still in a quiet neighborhood with a nice view and a huge playground only a few feet from the school. We highly recommend Wombat Wonderschool!”

Philosophy
At our childcare facility, we strive to provide child-based practices that promote inclusion, diversity, safety, and empowerment. We believe in creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, and valued, allowing them to explore their interests freely. Our program offers developmentally-appropriate activities and materials while incorporating input from families and honoring cultural backgrounds to celebrate diversity.
Location
Belle’s Wonderschool is located in a bright, warm townhouse in the san leandro neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and art area (for expressing emotions and ideas).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At Belle’s Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
About our program
Activities and projects will be children focused. Also, intentional teaching will be provided for children based on their interests, development and family-input.
