Philosophy
I believe that the first 4 years of a child’s life are the most important period of development physically, emotionally, cognitively, socially and morally. Children learn more when they feel safe and loved, and it is my goal to create a space where all children can thrive. My program is inspired by Reggio Emilia, and is a play-based program where each child is invited to explore and express themselves as unique and individual. I believe that my role is to provide support for children as they develop, and my program will include a variety of activities that support children in developing critical skills.
A day in my program will include free play, or choice time, where children are able to have full freedom and explore their own interests. I will also have some structured activities for children, such as opportunities each day to practice gross motor skills and fine motor skills, meal times with healthy options and traditional Middle Eastern and North African dishes, and nap time or rest time. We will also focus on building language, through circle time, singing, and regular conversation in multiple languages.
I have a mixed-aged program, where children can learn from one another, and support one another’s development.

About our program
Helo,
Hello! I am Khadijah Chebab, the founder of Bumblebee Daycare. I have been working with children for the past 9 years, both as a preschooler teacher and as a mom. I was inspired to start my own child care program after struggling to find quality care for my own daughter, and I believe that all children should have a loving, safe, home away from home where they can develop and grow.
I hold my Bachelor’s degree in Arabic studies from my home country, Algeria. I also have an Associate Teacher Certificate for Early Childhood Education from City College of San Francisco, where I took classes in child development, infant and toddler care, and supporting children with special needs. I worked as a teacher’s assistant for 4 years, and a lead teacher for 1 year. I am multilingual, and speak Arabic, French, and English. Some of my favorite hobbies are swimming, cooking, and shopping:)
We are opening now for April and May, and will be closed from May 20-August15.
