Our Teachers

Dear Parents,

My name is Kenza Zemmouri, I am the licensed provider and owner of Kingsland Daycare in San Francisco. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 5 years of experience working with children and am a mom of 2 girls.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Algeria and AS degree in health sciences from Merritt College.

My favorite hobbies are baking and cooking with my daughter which I will incorporate in my program with the children, swimming, traveling, and photography.

I operate The daycare with my mom Djamila, who was working as a babysitter in our home country for over 25 years, she brings so much wisdom and kindness to children, and she cooks a variety of delicious nutritious food to ensure healthy development for children.

Philosophy

My philosophy as an early childhood educator is to provide a loving, nurturing, and supportive family setting for each child while their parents are away at work. Children come in all shapes and sizes and at all stages of development. I help guide them through each developmental stage and build upon them. I precisely monitor each child’s progress with their large and small motor development, coordination, interaction with peers, and communication in the physical domain as well as assisting with language and cognitive development.

My program follows a play-based philosophy. I believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. My environment is responsive to the children in our care and allows children’s own interests to help facilitate their learning and engagement.

our lead teacher Kenza uses a Montessori-inspired approach to her Wonderschool after seeing the impact that the program had on her own daughter, Our hope is to inspire students to engage with the space, teacher, and each other in a setting that was entirely crafted to have them actively lead, rather than passively participate, in their growth.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite places include the block area (for gross motor skills and problem-solving), the dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and the reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At kings-land daycare we want the children to feel love, safety, and happiness as if they are with their parents!
