Our Teachers

Hello! I am Bessy the founder of Bessy’s Family Wonderschool. I have 8 years of experience working with young children and was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young.

I developed my love for working with children as a nanny for families around the Bay Area for 6 years. I have been running my own program for two years and am thrilled to continue to support the development of families in my community.

Philosophy

At Bessy’s Family Wonderschool, it is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

Our program follows a play-based philosophy. We believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring and interacting with their environment. Our space is responsive to the children in our care, and allows children’s own interests to help facilitate their learning and engagement.

Children in my program will hear and speak Spanish in addition to English. I believe that learning a second language at a young age encourages a child’s intellectual and social development.

Location

family Wonderschool is located in a cozy, warm condominium in the Ingleside Terrace neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests.

While playing in the block area, children can improve their motor skills, practice problem solving, and learn to work with their classmates.

The math and manipulatives area helps children develop their fine motor skills and learn beginning math concepts. Children practice their problem-solving skills and improve their hand-eye coordination by sorting counters and participating in other activities.

In addition, having a quiet area to practice their reading, writing, and comprehension skills will help children express ideas, explore their interests, and learn about the world around them.

Additionally, children will spend time outdoors every day!
