Our Teachers

Hello! I am Dulce Villagomez, the proud founder of Little Hands Academy Wonderschool. One thing to know about me is that I come from a big family of teachers! My mother, sister, and several cousins are all educators here and in Mexico. I also have children of my own: my 15-year-old and 12-year-old daughters who do extracurriculars like cheer, soccer and basketball. I raised them to be very active and well-rounded.

I decided to start my own child care because the pride and satisfaction for helping families with their love ones on process of the amazing progress in the child development: Social/Emotional, Language, Physical and Cognitively. I wanted to run a quality, caring, healthy, clean, with an unique environment program. I designed Little Hands Academy Family Child Care to have everything a parent would want for their child: plenty of nutritious food, fun learning activities and a nurturing, safe environment.

I believe in the importance of continuing education and am currently working towards gaining my Associate’s degree in Child Development in addition to taking early childhood education workshops all over Southern California. My hobbies include hiking and spending time outdoors, arts & crafts, and I LOVE cooking! I used to work in an Arabic deli and gained lots of experience in preparing delicious and healthy food. I enjoy preparing hot meals for my loved ones and the children in my program to always make them feel the warmth of a caring home.

Testimonials

“As soon as I met Dulce and we went to visit her place, we knew we had found a very special place for our son! Dulce is incredibly kind, patient, trustworthy, compassionate and positive. She always goes the extra mile and is very organized and proactive in setting fun and educational activities for the kids. I couldn’t recommend her and Little Hands Academy more highly!” - Nicola H.

“[Dulce] was AWESOME all the way around. My kids [came home] with such conversation of how much they loved her, and their new childcare place, let me know how amazing she was with them. Throughout the 2 months my kids were in her care, she went over and beyond my expectations, honestly. I can’t tell you guys how blessed I was to have found her business. Leaving that last day, my kids reassured with Dulce that she would not lose contact w/ me, and to please stay in touch for hangouts and birthday parties. I will definitely be seeking for her business for all future school breaks, like I told her, she’s now stuck with me and family! ❤️- Cathy F.

Philosophy

At Little Hands Academy Wonderschool, we believe that the first years of a child’s life are the most important period of human development. In our in-home child care program, we provide quality care and maintain a safe, clean, healthy, warm, and friendly environment for your child.

Through both group and individual activities, your child is encouraged to develop language, social/emotionally, cognitively and physically at his or her own rate, preparing your child for the next step in life.

We model respectful speech and accept and support all families with varied interests. With mutual support, families and child care providers are a resource for each other and promote healthy and positive outcomes for our children. We believe that only through partnership with the family can the goals for our children be realized.

Location

Little Hands Academy Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, warm single family home in the Redwood Village neighborhood. We are conveniently off the 94 freeway and College Ave just 2.5 miles south of San Diego State University.

Children will have plenty of time in fresh air every day in my private backyard. We offer many outdoor educational opportunities including gardening, playing sports and riding tricycles. Children also enjoy dramatic play, reading and art activities out here throughout the day.

At Little Hands Academy Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
