Shanaz, Director and Head Teacher
I have a wide array of experience working with children. I grew up in Pakistan as the oldest of six siblings and learned a lot from helping raise them all. When I was in my mid-20s, I opened an at-home tutoring service and had the opportunity to tutor hundreds of young students between the ages of 5 and 10, over the course of several years. Eventually, I married and moved to California where I have lived ever since and raised my two lovely children.
I’m excited to use my extensive experience to make a difference in the lives of young children. What has helped me succeed in all situations – whether caring for my siblings, raising my own children, or doing well in my job – is my insistence on routine and organization, while bringing kindness and warmth to every interaction.

Testimonials
“My son is enrolled in Richmond Childcare and Early School. Shahnaz is the best. I feel like a part of her family. My son really loves her, and I can see that she really cares for him. I also appreciate that Shahnaz speaks Urdu - my son’s father is Pakistani and my son’s grandparents only speak Urdu, and it’s important for him to know how to communicate with them. “ Biridiana (June 2019)
