Basics
Language(s) supported are languages that the provider or staff members are able to communicate in with parents/guardians. This is not indicative of instruction language(s) and/or language-based curriculum at the program.
Our Teachers
Our program is led by Maricruz Bisso, the licensee, who has more than 15 years of experience with children: first as a teacher in Peru, then caring for families in the U.S., and now running her own licensed home daycare. She is CPR trained and speaks English and Spanish with the children every day. Her warm, patient style helps each child feel at home while growing in confidence and independence.
Philosophy
We believe early childhood should be joyful, meaningful and healthy. We follow California Department of Education early learning guidelines with a Reggio Emilia-inspired, child-led approach: children learn through play, music, art, sensory activities, outdoor time and contact with nature. Daily music with songs, movement and real instruments supports language, coordination and creativity. Every child is unique, so we offer varied materials and experiences that let each one explore and learn at their own pace, in English and Spanish.
Location
We are a cozy, family-style home in Richmond, CA (94804), close to El Cerrito and convenient for commuters. Children enjoy a safe outdoor play space, and ours is a shoes-off home to keep play areas clean for crawling babies and little explorers. A gentle hypoallergenic poodle and a cat live with us; they never enter eating or sleeping areas and any interaction is supervised and only with family permission. Our home is free of firearms, tobacco and vaping, and has no pool. Our exact address is shared with families when they schedule a visit.
About our program
Mi Casita Musical is a licensed, bilingual (English/Spanish) family child care home in Richmond for children 3 months to 5 years (License #073409973). Music is part of every day: children sing, move and play real instruments while they learn, building language, coordination and creativity. We follow California Department of Education guidelines with a Reggio Emilia-inspired, child-led approach, plenty of outdoor play, art and time in nature. Ours is a cozy, shoes-off home where every child is known by name. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are included. Full-time and part-time schedules, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We welcome families with CocoKids and other subsidies, and offer a sibling discount.
