At Little Scholars Preschool, we believe that with a loving and nurturing atmosphere, the sky is the limit for what children can learn. As your child’s first exposure to an academic setting, preschool should leave a positive and lasting first impression. We want every one of our students to enter kindergarten feeling excited about school and confident to take on the world!
Ms. Linda’s teaching is often inspired by the HighScope philosophy, whose mission is to inspire children to engage in their passions, develop a love for school, and maximize their potential through hands-on, active learning. Our students construct knowledge through interactions with materials, people, events, and ideas. Learn more about HighScope at www.highscope.org.
We also believe in the whole child, focusing not only on academic excellence, but also on teaching life’s most important character lessons. Becoming a caring, compassionate individual is as important as becoming a strong, independent leader, and we will help your child discover what makes him or her unique. We value the child/parent relationship, and believe that, as a team, we can help your child thrive.

Ms. Linda has a passion for early childhood education. She believes all children, no matter where they are from, deserve the kind of quality education that will, not only give them a head start going into kindergarten, but that it is done in a fun way that gets children excited to learn! During her time as a teacher at a quality private school, Ms. Linda received an abundance of training on how to teach preschoolers to read and write at a young age, as well as incredible math curriculum. However, she also spent many years at a play-based program and sees the importance of play and exploration. She has created an incredible program that does both! She knows an abundance of games and hands-on activities that make learning fun. Ms. Linda also loves to explore the outdoors with her students. Each of them leave rainboots and raincoats in their cubbies so they can explore in the rain. The children absolutely love it and get to learn all about weather and the water cycle during their play!
Little Scholars is a magical place filled with love and care, fun and adventure, silliness and laughter…all while maximizing each child’s potential for absorbing the world’s knowledge! We are a big, happy family and we cannot wait to meet your little one!
Snack & Meals
We provide two health snacks a day. We ask that parents and guardians send lunch with their child to school.
Linda Modlin, Director & Head Teacher
Ms. Linda has always loved caring for young children! As a teen and young adult, she jumped at any opportunity to babysit. She went on to receive her early childhood education and has been in the preschool & childcare industry since 2005. For five of those years, she directed large preschools and after school programs. Her experience includes teaching and directing both highly academic programs and play-based programs, and Little Scholars strikes the perfect balance of both.
In researching other at-home programs in the area, Ms. Linda realized that most of them do not emphasize education. In order for children to receive the kind of early childhood education that will fully prepare them for kindergarten, parents often pay insane amounts of money. This is when Linda knew what she wanted to do. She decided to put her training and experience toward offering a quality education in a nurturing home atmosphere and without the huge price tag of a private school. Everyone deserves a great education!
Ms. Linda has two wonderful teenage children of her own, and has learned a great deal about love and compassionate raising them both. She also started a non-profit organization, Make-A-Dent International, to help those in poverty both locally and globally. Linda dreams of someday opening schools in Africa and India! Her fiance and Make-A-Dent partner, Chris, also lives in the home. The kids will just adore him. He is quite the musician and looks forward to playing guitar and singing with the kids some days when he gets home early from work! Chris works as a hardwood flooring technician but has spent many years living overseas doing humanitarian work. He has a heart of gold and as a duo, he and Ms. Linda put helping others as one of their biggest priorities in life.
In addition to her passions for education and humanitarian work, Ms. Linda is also a strong advocate for good, old fashioned fun! Laughter is the key to happiness, and Ms. Linda loves having fun and getting silly with her students. She would love for you to join the Little Scholars family!
Luna is a Siamese Tabby cat and Daisy is a maltipoo dog. Both are great with kids.
