Our Teachers

Hello! I am Miriam Montiel, the founder of Miriam’s Spanish Immersion Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have over 10 years of experience working with young children.

I invite parents to get involved in the education of their child, creating a comfortable, fun and safe environment. Parents can trust that the meals that I serve are all heathy and nutritious. I offer a Spanish Immersion program because studies have shown that children benefit developmentally when they are exposed to a second language at a young age. While Spanish is my first language, I speak some English also. Most importantly, I teach with love and respect, which all parents and children can feel in my program.

Philosophy

At Miriam’s Spanish Immersion Wonderschool, I believe that each child is unique and special, and they learn through observation and investigation. Children have different abilities, and we support learning across various developmental areas such as dramatic play, reading, science, mathematics, art, and outdoor activities. They learn to explore and collaborate with their classmates.

My goal is to provide high-quality, safe, and comfortable childcare. I work hard to cater to children’s developmental needs and offer activities focusing on language, literacy, math, science, and arts. I create a cheerful environment with bright colors and new materials to foster a happy space where children can grow emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially.

Open and frequent communication with parents is crucial, and I believe in treating families with the respect they deserve. Collaboration between parents and childcare providers is key to ensuring the growth and well-being of each child.

Location

Miriam’s Spanish Immersion Wonderschool is located in a beautiful, spacious new home in Pico Rivera.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite). Children will have some outdoor time every day in my big, private yard. I believe that connecting with nature lets children gain a deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.

At Miriam’s Spanish Immersion Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
