Our Teachers
Hello! I am Yukari, the founder of Metta Tree Montessori. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for an authentic Montessori program for toddlers in my community.
As a mother of two children, aged 3 and 5 years old, I was not able to find satisfying Montessori infant and toddler programs in my area. I began designing my program after my first child was born.
I hold a Masters Degree (M.Ed) in Montessori Education from Loyola University in Maryland. I have two Montessori diplomas at the 0-3 years old and 3-6 years old levels from AMI (Association Montessori Internationale). I worked as a lead toddler teacher at a Montessori school before my own children were born.
I know how important it is to have a respectful and safe space for children to grow to meet their full potential. I want to provide that to other families in my community. My life goal in my career is to support young children in their development to create a better world for everyone.
Some fun facts about me: I am originally from Japan. I practice meditation and yoga and enjoy swimming. I am getting ready for the next triathlon race.

Testimonials
Metta Tree Montessori was the best gift of 2022. My son was 1.5 year old and I was looking for a place where it would feel like home, with few children, where I would be closer to the teacher, with lots of nature and outdoor activities, and that allowed my son to develop his potentials and explore the world. I then found Metta Tree Montessori and it’s founder, Yukari, who is such a loving human being and passionate educator, who celebrates my little one’s every new learning. My son loves going there, meeting his friends, and exploring the carefully thought space with so much Montessori work, trees, birds, wiggleworms, garden, and playground. He is growing everyday more independent and self confident with everything he is learning at Metta. I’m so happy to be able to provide such a wonderful environment for my son to grow and couldn’t speak more highly about Metta, Yukari and her lovely family. Any parent looking for a great Montessori, home-style environment, here is an amazing place to bring your child.

Philosophy
At Metta Tree Montessori, we believe that children need an inspiring environment to explore and age-appropriate degrees of freedom to delve deeply into their interests. We offer a traditional Montessori education and our program is designed to fulfill their needs.
A child’s brain undergoes an amazing period of development from birth to three. They produce more than a million neural connections each second. We understand that the first three years of life are a critical period in brain development.
Our goal is to support children to be independent, confident, and self-motivated. When they become older, we hope that they find meaning in the world.
Location
Metta Tree Montessori is located in a single family home in Southgate Palo Alto, close to Stanford University.
About our program
Welcome to Metta Tree Montessori, an intimate, premium toddler program.
The toddler years are a period of immense neurological development, rapid language bursts, and a deep drive for independence.
