Our Teachers
Hello! I am Janay, the founder of Homestyle Jaycare. I have 17 years of experience working with young children. I am also one of 13 siblings, so taking care of children has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember. My favorite thing about running my school is being with a new student and figuring out what works for them and their needs; I love every moment of it! It is a complete blessing to be able to do what I love for a living.

Testimonials
“Homestyle Jaycare is amazing at caring of our son! He has been going here for about a year and a half now and it’s been such a positive experience. The thing I love the most is getting little updates about what the kids have been up to during the day along with some pictures. They set up some pretty cool activities for the kids!! It definitely helps me get through my work day! I also love the curriculum to prep the kids for school. I have definitely a positive improvement in my sons vocabulary and ability to forms his thoughts into sentences. Thank you for caring for our little guy like he’s your own! I would highly recommend this this daycare for your child.” - Christina
Philosophy
At Homestyle Jaycare, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive when they feel safe, loved, and nurtured. Building upon our 11+ years of well-established and successful experiences with play-based learning, we are focused on the development of the whole child; physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
We believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring their world and we encourage them to do it! Purposeful play is at the heart of these experiences and cultivates independent thinking, problem-solving skills, mental flexibility, and complex high-level thought.
We celebrate each child as a unique creation of God. And as such, we recognize the curiosity and wisdom of childhood. We strive to honor a spirit of inquiry and the joy of discovery inherent in all children. At Homestyle Jaycare, our environment is organized to be responsive to the children in our care and allow children’s interests to facilitate their learning and engagement.
Location
Our location is in a family friendly neighborhood with parks, schools and local eateries. We have a wide range of walking activities including parks, small lakes, and hiking trails.
About our program
Baby Sign Language
For the past five years, we have integrated baby sign language into our curriculum. Baby sign language allows infants as young as six-months-old to communicate more effectively with their caregivers, which diminishes their need to cry as a form of communication and accelerates their development. At Homestyle Jaycare, we teach little ones how to express basic needs like hunger and exhaustion, and encourage parents to learn this new language as well so the learning is reinforced at home. We are well aware of the linguistic and cognitive benefits of learning a second language at an early age. We strive to empower children with heightened communication skills so they develop a strong foundation for interacting with others in school and in their daily lives.
Religious Affiliation
At the core of our approach to daily learning is our faith in Jesus Christ and the Christian spirit of loving one another for who we are as individuals. We do not require that you or your family be Christian. We enthusiastically welcome into our home families of all beliefs, be they religious or not, and we embrace opportunities to grow with and learn from one another. Our curriculum is infused with teachings from the Christian faith, most notably, instilling in children the importance of being kind to others. These teachings supplement the more traditional aspects of our play-based pedagogy.
