Hello! I am Debbi Palmer, the founder of Palmer Playmates Wonderschool - and we are 30 years strong! When I decided to go into this profession and child care field, I didn’t just open my doors to take care of children. I wanted to make a difference and help raise future leaders and kind citizens in our world. It is my goal in life to advocate for children. To watch a child come into my program who is struggling, to see them grow and develop and become ready for kindergarten makes it all worth it!
I am a Master Teacher in California where I am connected to our two local colleges. They send students to Palmer Playmates who are interested in going into child development professions to gain experience and see a model school in action. I love being able to help not only children but also young people in the world who are looking to get into child care and early education.
I also go into my community and mentor women who are struggling in child care and education field. The changes I see as they progress are incredible and helping them rediscover their passion is why I love my job. I love helping providers get inspired and am thankful to have maintained relationships with them to see them grow and follow their hearts to work with children!

“Dear Ms. Debbi, You are truly an amazing teacher. You are also so amazing with the children. I love how my daughter always wants to come to preschool. She is learning so much and to know my daughter is loved and safe is so comforting to me. Thank you for always making my daughter feel safe and loved.“ - Deana
My daughter Sophia has been a Palmer Playmate for almost two years and loves going to school every day! She loves going to see all her friends, learning new things and doing all the fun activities the most. Ms. Debbi and all her teachers have taught Sophia more than I could ever imagine. Along with academic learning, she has also learned how to be independent and a great friend. This was the first form of child care I ever used for my daughter, and I could not be happier with my decision to send her to the Palmer Playmates!
October 26, 2022 RE: Palmer Playmates Family Child Care To Whom this may concern, Tam writing in reference to Ms. Debbi of “Palmer Playmates Family Child Care” Ms. Debbi has been my daughter’s preschool/childcare provider for the past 6 months. During this time, my wife and I have had the pleasure of watching our daughter grow and learn. We believe that Ms. Debbi is well qualified and experienced, she is certified in First Aid and Child CPR, she is also very vigilant in maintaining a safe and clean environment for her students. Ms. Debbi does an absolute wonderful job of challenging her students and preparing them for elementary school. Ms. Debbi primarily takes care of Angelina while my wife and I are working Monday thru Friday. Ms. Debbi and her staff make meals for their students, takes them out on short outings to the park and other activities to keep them busy while at the same time educating them every step of the way. Ms. Debbi has worked with children of different ages, abilities and learning styles. She is patient and caring. She communicates very well with all parents so that we know what is going on each day with our children. I have the utmost confidence in Ms. Debbi’s judgment and have always felt comfortable leaving my daughter in her care. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 619-518-6735 or 760-997-0048 Or [email protected] Sincerely, Mario Monterrosa
Palmer Playmates has been a wonderful place for our daughter Emmy to learn, grown, and have fun. She loves every moment, and we feel great knowing she is getting a great foundation that will help her transition to kindergarten next year. – Chase family, Oceanside, CA
“Palmer Playmates is a treasure! My 3-year-old son comes home everyday talking about how much fun he had at preschool. Ms. Debbi has an enriching curriculum that emphasizes kindness, accountability, and fun with learning. My son has learned so much and has gained so much independence and confidence in just the 4 months that he has been at the preschool. We highly recommend Palmer Playmates!”
Thank you so much for all the wonderful things that you do! ❤️

I am a previous assistant with the Palmer Playmates. I cannot chose a favorite day or a specific reason on why I loved my job at the Palmer Playmates. I do want to share that I enjoyed all the education and instruction that I was taught by Ms. Debbi and I am so grateful for the time I was the assistant to the best children.

Philosophy
My goal at Palmer Playmates Wonderschool is to train our kids to be kind, independent citizens of our future. We guide them and teach them self-confidence so they can use it in the world around them! At Palmer Playmates Wonderschool, having the kids feeling safe and loved is so important to me. Being able to explore is a huge part of what we do everyday - from nature walks to gardening! We provide a loving and nurturing environment and focus on all the main components of education.
Location
Palmer Playmates Wonderschool is located in an inviting, cozy single family home in the Murray Mission neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests.
Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.
At Palmer Playmates Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
About our program
Palmer Playmates Family Preschool not only connects academics and socialization but values creating community and engaging experiences for our families. We host themed monthly reading and art events that are open for the whole family. We bring in costumed friends that come along such as Pete the Cat, Clifford the Dog, Cat and the Hat, Dr. Seuss, and so much more to promote the love of reading.
It takes a village, and Palmer Playmates has a village such as grandparents reading to the children, art students who come and do art projects and music teachers who visit to do music and movement activities. We also have students from the community colleges who come in and do yoga, cooking classes, and sign language, to name a few.
We also offer a wealth of resources for families free of charge in the areas of speech therapy, health issues, and so many more resources to help parents be the best parents they can be and support their child’s growth and development.
With 31 years of experience, I am here to help your children be the very best they can be, and help parents be the very best they can be - it’s all about teammwork!
