Philosophy
It is my belief that all children are special, unique, and talented in so many ways. All they need is a stable foundation and proper guidance to thrive in the present, as well as, the future.
My goal as a childcare provider is to nurture and give each child the opportunity to grow and explore. When children explore and experience “STEMulating” educational play they learn a basic skill set that he/she will need in the near future. Children also begin to build a positive self image and gain an understanding of respect for others. It is also my goal to provide a safe and comforting place where they can feel loved and cared for during the absence of their parents.
We will follow a daily schedule that will consist of being/becoming independent on all levels. Self feeding, potty training, personal hygiene, individual activities, group activities, free time and much much more. All activities will be supervised and proper guidance will be given. Our daily activities will become easier for the children and the staff over time.
Location
We are located in the Uptown/Downtown Oakland area near Piedmont, CA. We are close to public transportation, as well as, Summit and Kaiser Hospitals. We are also located close to many other retail businesses.
About our program
At LPL, we teach the concepts of math, science, engineering, art, social sciences and early literacy through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping off place. The materials are open-ended and invite children to discover and use their imagination. Children make their own investigations and draw their own conclusions whenever possible. We pride ourselves in the growth & development of the “Whole Child”.
