Our Teachers

Hello! I am Luz Ruiz, the founder of Ruiz Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 34 years of experience working with young children and I absolutely love what I do.

I work with assistants in my program to ensure that we are attentive to the needs of each child. At our in-home child care program, we try to keep our ratio of providers:children low to keep our children safe and happy.

Philosophy

At Ruiz Family Child Care Wonderschool, we encourage continuous learning and growth for our children. We provide a secure, nurturing and caring atmosphere in which children can explore and learn through play. We believe that children need to be provided with varied opportunities to explore and experiment with concepts through hands-on activities in their natural environment to play and engage in active learning.

Our activities promote the opportunity for children to acquire physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development. It is important to teach our children to be respectful of others and we try our best to build positive self-esteem. We take pride in developing age-appropriate activities that correspond to each child’s development and we do our best to incorporate children’s choices into the activities.

It is important to provide children with good nutrients so they have the energy to engage in activities and develop strong vessels. The food we cook for our children consists of a healthy, nutritious balance.

Family is important to us; therefore we always invite parents to partake in birthdays and holidays, which we celebrate at the daycare. Also, we like to give a tour of the daycare to the parents and family members so they see what their children partake in, in their everyday life. Location

Ruiz Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, warm single family home in the North Hills neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
