Our Teachers
Hello! I am Anita Sonawane, the founder and director of Little Wonder Preschool and Extended Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own child care program after working closely with parents and guardians as a preschool teacher for the past three and a half years.
Parents and guardians trust educators to provide high-quality care and teach life skills to their child, and I want to fulfill that promise to parents in my community. I love working with parents as a team to help each child in my program grow and develop.

Philosophy
At Little Wonder Preschool and Extended Care Wonderschool, we believe that children learn best and gain confidence when they are given individualized care in an environment that is loving, fun, and safe. We will partner with parents in order to serve children with the same passion, care and love they see at home. Little Wonder Preschool and Extended Care Wonderschool approach blends purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We believe that each child is a unique individual and that all children can learn. Our preschool programs provide inclusive settings that recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs, and learning styles. We believe children learn best through meaningful play. Our play-based, child centered program reflects the integration of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self help and aesthetic areas for the total development of the child. Meaningful play encourages curiosity, discovery and problem solving which allows individual growth and development of a positive self-image.
We value the parents and guardians of our students as our teammates and partners in helping each child transition and develop at their own pace. We provide a warm, caring atmosphere so that children have a home away from home.
Location
Our program is in a welcoming single family home in Mountain House. We are conveniently located five minutes from Highway 205, for families who are commuting to the Bay Area and elsewhere. Children will have daily outdoor time in our spacious, green backyard space.
About our program
We take a holistic approach to the activities we do with our students, and foster their understanding of math concepts, music, science, and art. We provide opportunities for children to express themselves creatively through different types of art.
Through music and movement, we help students grasp new ideas by tying what they learn to hand motions and body movements. By singing and engaging in play together, we develop our students’ sense of confidence and self-expression.
