Philosophy
Montessori is a scientific method of education developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, aimed towards educating children through self-directed activities in their prepared environment. It focuses on the whole child’s physical, spiritual, social, mental, and emotional development and instills mindfulness, kindness, peace, and freedom within a prepared environment.
The Montessori classroom is orderly and organized to help the child develop a sense of order, explore, learn independently, stay calm, and be respectful and peaceful.
The Montessori curriculum includes areas of Practical Life which consist of exercises to enhance motor skills used in everyday life; Sensorial Education to explore the child’s senses; Cultural Arts to learn about the world around them; Math to understand mathematical functions in concrete form; and Language to teach vocabulary, writing, and reading skills.
About our program
Montessori Academy of Arcadia is located in Monrovia, California and serves children from six weeks up to Kindergarten. We follow the Montessori methodology and offer a holistic educational environment that pursues excellence in the intellectual, moral, physical, and social development of our students. We offer free enrichment programs such as music, contemporary dance, Chinese, Spanish, soccer, zumba, yoga, and ballet. Our tuition rates are affordable and include free breakfast, hot lunch, and three snacks for students aged 24 months and above.
Our classrooms are welcoming, bright spaces designed and set up beautifully to promote educational and personal growth of our students. Our teachers are fully qualified, Montessori trained, and are dedicated to help each child thrive at their own pace. They are also finger printed and screened by the FBI, Department of Justice and the Child Abuse Registry for the safety and protection of your child.
