Our Teachers
Hello! I am Arzu Tosun, the founder of Acorns Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have an Associate in Arts Degree in Child Development from Foothill College. I also have 18 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy
At Acorns Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.
My program follows a nature-based philosophy. Children will spend all or most of their time outdoors. I believe that nature is the best environment for children and supports their development as they prepare to enter more formal school systems in kindergarten and beyond.
Location
Acorns Wonderschool is located in a warm, welcoming single family home in Menlo Park.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), and nature area (for discovering nature and science concepts).
Children will spend about half of their time outdoors in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
At Acorns Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
