Our Teachers

Hello! I am Bonnie Cole, the founder of Ole’ King Cole Wonderschool. I started my program decades ago, at a time where the community wasn’t as open to needs of working families and children and the opportunity to help others through quality childcare programs. Now, I have helped generations of families by providing quality care year after year. I appreciate the love and closeness the children have with me and their teachers. I view parents as partners and believe that you are their first teacher. Therefore, we will spend time in communicating and connecting home-school life.

Philosophy

At Ole’ King Cole Wonderschool, our mission is to strengthen the development and growth of young children so that each child reaches his or her full potential. We give the children the chance to become independent learners and community leaders. We ignite curiosity in infants and toddlers by promoting a “yes, you can” attitude. We believe children need to be able to make choices and have the opportunity to learn through play, the arts, sensory play, friendship, and diversity. In addition, we are aware of the importance of fostering creativity, invention, and sustainability. We are proponents of using recycled materials and making “school made” toys with the children out of reused materials.

Location

Ole’ King Cole Wonderschool has been a staple in the Long Beach community for 32 years. Inside, we have a safe and uncluttered infant room, a fun and colorful playroom and a designated bathroom for the children. Outside we have three classroom spaces including a grass field with shaded gazebo, a play structure and an arts and easel area.
