Our Teachers

Hello! I am Amy Adourian, the founder of Amy’s Kindercare Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 10 years of experience working with young children as a Nanny. When I had my own children, it made me realize how much I wanted to be a part of their early childhood development and that experience motivated me to start my own program. As a mother, I understand how difficult it is to find quality care and I wanted to share my program with other mothers. Seeing children happy in their element is what I live for and why this program is so important to me.

Philosophy

At Amy’s Kindercare Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.

Through my experience working with children and having children of my own, I have found how valuable it is to provide children at this young age quality care and education. My philosophy is simple, provide children the tools and resources to maximize their potential, through play, healthy foods, and caring interactions.

Location

Amy’s Kindercare Wonderschool is located in a warm, welcoming single family home in the Westpark neighborhood. The area of Westpark is known in Irvine for their exceptional school system, specifically Westpark Elementary.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving).

Children will spend about half of their time outdoors in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Amy’s Kindercare Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

About our program

At Amy’s Kindercare Wonderschool, we focus on each child’s development in their own unique way. With a low provider to child ratio, I find it important to be able to spend individualize time with each child, while allowing time for group activities and child to child interactions. I see myself as a facilitator, observing children at play, creating a comfortable space for children to learn and watch them blossom into their own personality.

Activities I have found most successful with children are music, dancing, singing and art, which are incorporated into my lessons on an everyday basis. I also believe in child-led activities to allow children the opportunity to explore and continue learning at their own pace.
