Testimonials
“Carmen has been working with our family for almost two years and helping to raise our son. He is now just over two years old, and I can’t imagine what we would have ever done without Carmen’s constant presence in our lives during these crucial early years. She is an amazingly loving, warm and fun person and has an incredible medical and caretaking background. She is exactly the person you’d want to help raise your child. She has the unique ability to stay incredibly cool and calm in any situation, and is willing to do everything she can to assure that a child is happy and healthy.” - Fumi O.
“My 18-month-old baby boy Matteo has been at Del Alamo and De Romana Family Child Care for almost a year now and is still extremely excited every morning to go to day care. Carmen keeps Matteo busy with projects such as arts and crafts, reading, playing outside, and interactive activities with other kids. What I love also is that Carmen feeds Matteo breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in-between.
Besides the great care and attention Matteo is receiving, I am also happy with the safe and fun environment that my son gets to be in. I have no second thoughts when I drop him off, as the neighborhood is safe and quiet. I definitely recommend Del Alamo and De Romana Family Child Care to anyone looking to place their child in a safe learning environment.” - Erika M.
“Carmen has been my child care provider for over a year now and I couldn’t be more pleased with the type of atmosphere she providers not only to the children but also to the parents. She always keeps us informed about any concerns or issues pertaining to our children that she might see while in her care, and she provides advice as well as educational information or information on kid-friendly events that she thinks the children might enjoy.
She has a daily organized schedule that includes education, indoor play, outside play, breakfast, lunch, snack and nap time. I’ve seen her in action with the children on many occasions and was impressed with the organization, compassion, sense of humor, and positive attitude that she conducts herself with. She has an amazing understanding of how to relate to children and how to facilitate their cognitive growth and development. She is highly professional and easily recognizes children’s special needs, both academic and emotional.” - Rosa R.
“I have known Carmen for more than three years. Carmen came recommended through some friends, and we are very happy we were introduced to her. My daughter stayed in Carmen’s care until she started preschool, and my son has been in her care for the past two years.
Carmen is an excellent example of a home day-care provider. She is warm, nurturing, and my favorite part is that she cooks nutritious meals for the children in her care. She not only watches the children, but she really makes an effort to engage them and help their minds develop by offering structured activities both inside and outside, including arts and crafts, reading, puzzles, dramatic play, a sandbox, swings, an obstacle course, among other things. I give my highest recommendation for Carmen to any parent looking for a child care provider.” - Mirranda S.
“Carmen possesses a strong and disciplined work ethic, is dedicated and honest and has always had a firm, but gentle and loving way with our children. On top of being an excellent and compassionate caregiver, out kids have always had great fun playing with Carmen. She exhibits an industrious attitude towards work - willing to be flexible, communicative and go the extra distance. Never idle, she fulfills light housekeeping duties and has taught out daughters Spanish as well. Carmen has raised two wonderful full-grown children of her own and comes from a stable family environment. Our family, especially our daughters, have benefitted tremendously from having Carmen in our life. We hope you will have the opportunity for the same.” - Diana S.
Philosophy
At Del Alamo & De Romana Family Wonderschool, we believe that children are very important. We are equipped with resources and knowledge to facilitate and stimulate each of the developing areas, contributing to a healthy self-esteem and creativity.
Our program reflects the belief that learning takes place primarily through exploratory activities and discovery. The learning occurs in an environment full of security and love. We respect and believe in the diversity of cultures, the interactions of all the children, in a primary and continuing care, respecting several types of learning.
In Del Alamo and De Romana Family Wonderschool, all children are welcome and we accommodate our learning environment to each child’s needs. Our promise is to make a contribution in the life of your child, helping him or her reach an optimal development. And at the same time, we love to work with parents as part of the family.
Location
Del Alamo and De Romana Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the Granada Hills neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At Del Alamo and De Romana Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
