Our Teachers

Hello! I am Marcelena Abdi, the founder and director of Itsy Bitsy Wonderschool. I have worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for the past 10 years, and I have my Associate’s degree in Child Development. I previously worked as an infant and toddler teacher, a preschool teacher, a kindergarten teacher, and most recently as an administrator at a daycare.

I am a mother of an adventurous toddler, he is a wonderful blessing. We invite children and families to come a share our adventuresome days together.

Philosophy

Please note that our license is pending. While our license is pending, we are legally allowed to enroll and start one family. We would love to invite you to be a founding family at Itsy Bitsy Wonderschool!

At Itsy Bitsy Wonderschool, our goal is to help children learn through exploration and play. We believe that children thrive when they can engage with learning materials independently, and when they have the opportunity to discover new, creative uses for materials around them.

We have structured our learning areas as a “Yes” environment, where our students are empowered to find the materials they want to work with, learn to use them or take them apart, and then put them back together.

Location

Itsy Bitsy Wonderschool is located one mile away from Highway 168, and we are a five-minute drive from the Fresno Yosemite International Airport. We are a 10-minute drive from Viking Elementary School, Tarpey Elementary School, and Irwin O. Addicott Elementary School.

Our students will have plenty of outdoor play time in our back patio play area and in our shared community green space. Our daily outdoor activities will include stretching, to help with balance and coordination.

About our program

At Itsy Bitsy Wonderschool, we have a holistic approach to learning, where we integrate art, science, and movement into our daily activities. We love to use the Wonderschool app to share photos, videos, and updates of our students with their family.

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Itsy Bitsy Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour or attend an Open House event.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.

Note: Until I receive my license from the state, I can only have one family enrolled in my program.
