Hello! I am Ectoria Straughter, the proud founder of A Brighter Future Wonderschool Home Childcare & Preschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have enjoyed working with children since I was young. I have 30 years of experience working with children of all ages.
I decided to open my own in-home child care program in 2011 because after raising five children of my own, I knew I could provide high-quality care for families looking for a safe, clean and educational preschool setting for their little ones. My children are all grown up now and continue to be bright and focused. My eldest son recently received his Master’s Degree in Education and has always loved learning.
Those who know me best describe me as family-oriented, fun-loving and professional. I take my work seriously in the sense that I do whatever I can to build a strong foundation for children to become productive citizens. I balance the professional aspects with a true passion for my work: I have a blast doing arts & crafts projects with kids, doing Circle Time activities, and planning our preschool curriculum. I think the best part of my job is keeping children motivated and excited about learning every day.
Achievements
Philosophy
At A Brighter Future Wonderschool Home Childcare & Preschool, our onboarding philosophy emphasizes teaching basic Spanish and learning through musical play. In addition, we offer a healthy, nurturing, and stimulating family-based environment that promotes self-confidence and positive interactions with staff and peers. Our facility is professional, clean, and safe, ensuring a conducive space for children to thrive socially, emotionally, and physically.
Our daily routine includes various enriching activities such as music, story time, outdoor play, arts & crafts, and a comprehensive curriculum designed to support your child’s cognitive and social development. We provide hot meals and nutritious snacks to ensure children have the energy they need throughout the day, and we offer flexible hours to accommodate diverse parental schedules. Working collaboratively with parents, our goal is to prepare all children for a brighter future.
Location
A Brighter Future Wonderschool Home Childcare & Preschool is located in a bright, welcoming single family home in the University Heights Community neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment to look like a preschool center, complete with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. We also do a variety of fun projects throughout the year from themed arts & crafts activities to special read-a-loud/dramatic play days.
Children will have some outdoor time every day in my spacious backyard. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At A Brighter Future Wonderschool Home Childcare & Preschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
