Our Teachers

At Barrera Peraza Family Wonderschool, we have been caring for children and their families for more than 20 years. At our home, your precious child will feel like he or she is living in a home away from home and will experience the highest standard of care. We provide a warm and loving environment for children ages 6 months to 13 years. Because of our smaller setup, we are able to give your child personal attention and create an environment where each child feels happy and has a comforting sense of belonging. Your child will be able to develop intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally. Each child in our care is given as much time as he or she needs to master each important skill of childhood. Our daily routine includes outdoor play, age appropriate toys, lots of books. We serve only nutritious, quality food and snacks.

Here, your child will receive the benefit of years of experience teaching and working with children of all ages. We are a bilingual program, and can teach your child Spanish upon your request. Philosophy

At Barrera Peraza Family Wonderschool, we believe in promoting the development of the whole child. We do so through play, age-appropriate learning activities, healthy meals, and a safe and nurturing environment. Creativity is fostered and children are encouraged to discover new interests and to be curious about their world. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy children who are socially, emotionally, and cognitively well-adjusted.

We are committed to providing safe, affordable, high-quality service for children living in our community. We are responsible for the well-being, safety, and learning of every child. My assistants and I provide information not only through care and role play, but through circle time reading, small group activities and hands-on learning activities. We believe that every child has an equal value to our program, and actively work to support full inclusion of children with diverse abilities and disabilities, as well as those from all socio-economic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. We support and encourage the development of creative and social skills through opportunities for sensory play through a wide variety of materials.

We believe that children should be treated with respect and dignity, to feel safe and secure, to have opportunities for learning through play, decision-making, and social interaction with their peers.

Barrera Peraza Wonderschool is located in a beautiful, clean single family home in the Arleta community.

Barrera Peraza Family Wonderschool’s Approach to Learning: Researchers continue to confirm that children do their most important learning before the age of five. At Barrera Peraza’s Family Wonderschool, that is why everything we do involves early childhood development, in addition to lots of love and attention.

We provide children with age-appropriate environments and encourage them to learn, play, and explore. Unlike other day cares where children simply sit and watch television all day long, Barrera Peraza Family Wonderschool offers your child a unique and efficient educational tool. Our program has a preschool curriculum that includes activities that help with math/problem solving and language and listening skills, along with high-quality materials for free play where children can learn how to recognize shapes, colors, and animals while developing motor skills and hand/eye coordination.

You can rest assured that your child will be served nutritious meals for breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner every day. Our program includes indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) activities for the best growth and development of each child.

About our program

Infants as young as three month old are involved with stimulating, hands-on play. Barrera’s is a safe place for growth, love, and discovery. Each activity is designed to achieve developmental milestones while having fun at the same time. Barrera emphasizes to her team the importance of nurturing when it comes to babies, providing plenty of hugs, love, and attention to each child’s needs. Your baby will enjoy giggling, cuddling and Tummy-Time in our safe playrooms.

Toddlers are always active, excited and exploring the world around them! Barrera’s encourages and promotes the curiosity and readiness of toddlers. Toddlers are presented with problem-solving games and puzzles. In their daily activities, they get an introduction to science, math, language, drama, music, art and more. The team will have a daily report for you on the progress of your child including updates on naps, playing and socialization, meals and habits. We accept children who are in need of before and after school care.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
