Our Teachers
I’m Gerlee, and I am the Director and Head Teacher at Miller’s Family Daycare. I grew up in Mongolia, but now I live in Antioch, where I have been in the child care business for 3 years.
I was inspired to open my program after my first grandchild was born—and it’s been a journey ever since! In my free time, I love to listen to music, read books, and spend time with my family.

Philosophy
At Miller’s Family Daycare, we believe that early learning and a safe environment for infants and toddlers is one of the most important things for any daycare. Because of the current situation in the world, we put the children’s health first before anything else. It is our goal to provide the same quality of early learning to all our children while adjusting to the state laws and safety measures. By safety, we consider all the aspects such as toys, environment (room and playground), and food/snacks. All the toys at the daycare are purchased from a company where each toy is manufactured to be safe and help build the foundation for early learning. At the daycare, there is plenty of space inside for the children to learn and practice their motor skills and even bigger space outside for better air circulation for the children. For food/snacks, we consider all allergies of each child and provide fresh homemade meals and healthy snacks.
Location
Miller’s Family Daycare is located in a charming neighborhood in Antioch bordering Brentwood. This program is located in a single-family home with an outdoor area in back. We are located close to the Hillcrest and Laurel intersection making it a quick drop-off commuting to and from work.
About our program
Here are some of the main components of our program:
Social-Emotional Learning: I believe that social-emotional development is one of the most important things to teach a child. This includes the ability to understand their own experiences, express themselves and manage their emotions. These developments are necessary in helping them build long-lasting relationships with others.
Caring and Supportive: Our program should feel like home to both our children and parents! Each family that joins my program becomes a part of my family, and I invest in the success of each individual child. I can’t wait to meet you!
Language Learning: I speak Mongolian and Russian in addition to English, and will incorporate words and phrases into our daily activities . Language development can help children to develop problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking skills.
Cleanliness: Having a clean program is one of my top priorities. The space will be cleaned every morning and night. We also will wash each toy while in the middle of the day while kids are napping.
We, at Miller’s Family Daycare, value the importance of early learning for all our children. Here are list of things we will be helping our children with
- Develop gross motor skills
- Develop fine motor skills
- eye and hand coordination through learning activities
-
For cognitive skills
- Matching colors
- Sorting based on shape or color
- Identifying pattern
- Counting
Gross motor skills will be improved as we have enough space for toddlers to move around and grab onto furniture that is designed to be safe for children.
