Philosophy

Pitter Patter Playschool believes in providing a stimulating early care and education experience in a home environment that celebrates each child’s individual pattern of development. They recognize that children are unique individuals with diverse backgrounds, learning at their own pace. Their philosophy integrates the Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care to facilitate learning through play in various developmental areas. The facility emphasizes hands-on experiences and exploration, fostering family partnerships based on mutual respect and common goals. The Conscious Discipline approach is utilized to teach positive behaviors and encourage good conduct in children.

Moreover, the facility values each child’s uniqueness, personality, and environment, aiming to create a safe, loving, and fun space for them to thrive. They believe in providing a balance of rules and positive guidance to encourage exploration and creativity. Embracing a play-based program, the teachers support child-initiated learning and promote inquiry to enhance critical thinking skills. They emphasize the importance of childhood, drawing on research to highlight the long-term benefits of positive early experiences on overall health and well-being.

Pitter Patter Playschool also focuses on assisting parents in nurturing children’s social skills, self-help abilities, and sense of responsibility. They provide a rich learning environment with toys and resources, following the belief that “It takes a village to raise a child.” They advocate for a holistic approach to child-rearing, involving various sources such as family, educators, and community members in supporting children’s growth and development.

About our program

Stevie’s Pitter Patter Play School provides stimulating early care and education experience in an affordable home environment free from the restrictions of institutional care. In a small group setting, we celebrate each child’s individual pattern and timing of social, emotional, spiritual, moral, physical, and cognitive. We consider that each child is an individual with a diverse background that governs each child’s individual pace.

Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care assists in integrating learning through play in all the core areas of growth and development. Children need hands-on experiences and the chance to explore their surroundings. Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment keeps learning on track for entry into kindergarten. Family partnerships are built and strengthened over mutual respect and shared goals. Conscious Discipline is used for behavior guidance, positive teaching interactions, deep breaths, and regular schedules. We encourage children by recognizing their good behavior and teaching them before problems occur. Our safe outdoor play space expands each child’s play and learning by using natural materials and promoting large motor development.
