Youngsoon Jun, Ed.D is the founder, educator and a leader who has specialized in early childhood education for over three decades. Her credentials include a master’s degree from College of Notre Dame and a doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Jun pioneered the Montessori Method in South Korea in 1985. Since then, she has opened several successful schools, trained teachers where thousands of children have thrived in the Montessori setting. She is thrilled to have her first Montessori school in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and is inspired by the community to continue her work encouraging children to be empowered and instill a love for learning.
Filosofía
Montessori education is recognized internationally as a merited educational method. For more than a century now, the child-focused approach that Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician, developed for educating children has been transforming schools around the globe. Two important mental structures of Montessori education are Sensitive Period and Absorbent Mind.
