Hello! I am Hickma Khanbabi, the founder of The Progressive Day Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have about 20 years of experience working with young children.

I am a teacher with over 30 years of experience total in early childhood education. I am a licensed child care services provider and my program is CDA certified. I am trained and take pride in preparing kids for school and helping instill confidence in a loving and caring environment.

At The Progressive Day Care Wonderschool, we pride ourselves in providing quality child care. We believe in learning with fun and loving attention for every child. I actively work on developing your child’s motor skills, reading skills, and basic concepts (telling time, seasons, and geography). As a teacher, I balance having a play-based program with offering an academic curriculum for all ages.

You may be working parents or even a single parent looking for an affordable day care option. We provide twice the service for half the cost of franchised day cares. We take pride in preparing kids for school and helping instill confidence in a caring environment.

Additionally, we provide:

• Transportation services, available for an additional cost
• Hot, fresh and nutritious meals and snacks daily
• Flexible hours from Monday - Friday 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• CPR, First Aid and CDA certified service
• Tutoring available (phonics, writing and reading skills)

The Progressive Day Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, warm single family home in the Sugarland neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and art area (for expressing emotions and ideas).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my private backyard. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
