ANN MARIE GADLEY - DIRECTOR/OWNER: Hello! I am Ann Marie Gadley, the Owner/ Director of Young Environment Learning Center (YELC). I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 25 years of experience working with young children. I graduated from Gannon University with a teaching certification in early childhood education. I bought YELC in December 2001. I enjoy working with the children, helping teachers grow professionally and getting to know families. I’m currently the President of the Erie Early Learning Directors committee.

KIM PUHARIC - INFANT TEACHER: Hi I’m Kim Puharic. I’ve been with YELC as the infant teacher for 15 years. I love working with the babies; helping them explore their world, establishing routines so they feel safe, secure and loved. All three of my children attended YELC and have great memories of Annie and their teachers.

ANITA BYRNE - TODDLER TEACHER: I joined YELC in 2011 as a toddler teacher. I enjoy working with the toddler because they are curious and eager to learn. I am on the board of Bethsada (need more info) and enjoy camping.

At Young Environment Learning Center, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by following their own unique style of discovery. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.

Young Environment Learning Center is located in a welcoming, warm center in the Erie neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), nature area (for discovering nature and science concepts), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Young Environment Learning Center, I want to provide a loving home away from home.

YELC ERIE is located at 1120 W 26th Street and offers infant, toddler and pre-k programs. We are proud to be a STAR 4 center.

We offer: a caring home like atmosphere with a focus on individualized care small class sizes teacher led and child centered learning and play learning centers including art, science and nature, dramatic play, sand and water play, blocks, cars, housekeeping areas, music, books and quiet areas fenced in outdoor play areas with sand tables, trikes, climbers and small slides heatlhy snacks, milk with snacks and lunch school readiness activities including shapes, colors, counting, pre-reading, pre-writing, sorting, graphing and more

From the moment you enter Young Environment Learning Center your family and child will feel welcome and comfortable. We are a small home like center providing care for infants, toddlers and preschool children. friendly welcoming child care center youll know your child is in the right place. We focus on providing each child the caring attentive individualized care and the age-appropriate interactive activities they need to be happy healthy and well socialized.

We provide a loving nurturing environment and highly trained child care professionals who truly care about the welfare of each child in our care. Each of our caregivers has received in depth training and has submitted to background checks and drug screenings to ensure the safety of our clientele.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application – note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
