LeAnne Clark, Director

I grew up in the Willamette Valley in a big family with many children of all ages. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of my younger family members and was eager to babysit whenever I could. As I got older, I became a stay-at-home mom to my five kids. For the past thirty years, I’ve dedicated myself to raising my children and supporting their school and extracurricular activities through volunteer work.

In 2009, my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This experience has given me insight into the challenges and anxieties faced by parents of diabetic children, especially when it comes to entrusting their care to others who may not be familiar with diabetes. I am well-versed in blood sugar monitoring, insulin injections, insulin pumps, managing high and low blood sugar, carb counting, and the specific dietary requirements of individuals with diabetes. Drawing from my own experiences as a parent of a child with diabetes, I am passionate about offering reassurance to other parents in similar situations.

In 2010, my husband, our three youngest children, and I relocated to Central Oregon to be closer to our extended family. We have grown to love the community in Redmond and have formed close bonds with friends and neighbors.

When our two youngest children transitioned to middle school and began to find their paths, I found myself with more free time. This led me to open our home to provide childcare for families in our community who need a reliable and supportive environment. Because, as the saying goes, it truly does take a village to raise a child!

Filosofía

Village Childcare prioritizes nurturing your child’s individuality, creativity, and development through play-based methods. We are committed to encouraging your child’s unique journey to self-discovery, social and communication skills, fine motor skills, and other preschool developments that lay the foundation for your child’s future growth.

Our daily activities involve creating messes and masterpieces with toys and crafts such as Play-Doh, finger painting, kinetic sand, and more. We provide a wide range of toys to keep your little one busy and engaged, including dramatic play, various building sets, puzzles, and games. We enhance storytime with creative interaction, and our lively dance parties are a great way to burn energy and have a blast!

If that sounds like fun, wait!

We spend as much time outdoors as possible during the summer. We use play structures, chalk, games, ride-on toys, water tables, and sandboxes. When it’s really hot, we also enjoy slipping down water slides. In the winter, we don’t let the snow stop us; we bundle up and make snow angels and snowmen, with the occasional snowball fight. Afterward, we always enjoy some kid-approved hot cocoa!

At the village, we prioritize staying active to help children burn off energy and stay fit while having fun learning!

Acerca de nuestro programa

Our mother and son team at Village Childcare strives to offer parents in the community a registered home child care option that is focused on nurturing your child’s development and providing care that meets your child’s individual needs. It is our mission to ensure that our parents know their little loved ones are in good hands in the village!

We achieve this goal by working together as a team and choosing to keep our caregiver-to-child ratio regularly at 1 to 5 instead of the 1 to 10 caregiver-to-child ratio that we are licensed for. This allows us to not only provide more attention to each individual but also to provide parents with more availability and less closures.
