Our Teachers

Hi there! I am Belkis, the founder of Garden of Tenderness II. As a proud mom of two boys, I know how much love and trust it takes to choose the right care for your little one. In my garden, we play, we learn, and we grow, filling each day with a warm, gentle glow. My ultimate goal is to ensure that every child leaves my care completely prepared, deeply confident, and excited for whatever bright adventures await them next!

Philosophy

At Garden of Tenderness II, we believe that a child’s play is their most important work. Our play-based philosophy transforms everyday moments into powerful building blocks for lifelong learning, where imagination takes the lead and discovery happens naturally. We don’t just watch your children grow; we actively cultivate their curiosity through hands-on exploration, creative problem-solving, and joyful interaction. Here, mud pies teach fractions, building blocks master gravity, and dress-up builds profound emotional intelligence. By fostering an environment where fun and foundational skills bloom together, we ensure your little ones aren’t just ready for school—they are excited for a lifetime of learning.

Location

Conveniently located on West 131st Street, Garden of Tenderness II sits in a vibrant pocket in the heart of Harlem. Our neighborhood is perfect for young children, offering easy access to St. Nicholas Park for fresh air and outdoor play. We are close to local schools and the Columbia University Manhattanville campus, making drop-offs and pick-ups seamless. Plus, your daily commute is a breeze with the 2 and 3 subway lines just a short walk away. It’s a warm, accessible, and community-centered place for your little one to grow!

About our program

In our Garden of Tenderness Daycare II, we understand that the early childhood years are critical. We provide an environment for early development for all children within New York City. We provide not only childcare services but a nurturing and engaging learning space. Parents do not simply need someone who will watch their children while they work, they need partners in raising their kids. In this group daycare center, we provide programs for developing kids.

The curriculum we use focuses on creating positive energy and joy through playful learning. This means providing physical exercise and artistic activities simultaneously to ensure that children can have fun and learn at the same time. The curriculum includes a variety of activities such as sports and music lessons, which help to develop various social competencies among kids. We want to help kids become good members of society.

Our group daycare center provides an excellent place for early development because we emphasize the importance of creating an environment where children feel safe and secure. We have professional staff that will guide kids in acquiring the necessary competencies to succeed in life.
