I am an Early Childhood Education teacher and I’ve been working with children most of my life. I believe that the best ECE learning happens through guided play and exploration. As an experienced preschool teacher, I value each individual child in our program and have built differentiated lesson plans to help them grow. Our lesson plans employ a variety of teaching methods to maximize every student’s engagement and learning potential.

I am also a former artist and a state-placed gymnastics athlete. I incorporate both these elements of my life into my work with children:

Creativity & Art: Both Waldorf and Reggio schools place high focus on the arts, creativity, and the imagination. At Tori’s Tots, the arts are integrated into lessons and injected into the whole curriculum.

Health & Movement: Fine motor skills and spatial awareness development start early. It’s crucial not only for gymnastics, but for ensuring fluent movement for your child’s life! At Tori’s Tots, your little gymnasts will practice moving their bodies in various spatial challenges. I encourage the language of over, under and through, etc, in daily warm ups and activities. Using this prepositional language combined with movement forms body maps in their brains, as they develop spatial maps and concepts through movement.

Filosofía

Upon completing the program, your child will develop a strong foundation for their lifelong academic journey, love of learning, and positive character development!

Tori’s Tots philosophies advocate for students pursuing learning through exploration, discovery and play:

  • Children must have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves in a safe environment;
  • Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening and observing;
  • Children have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world that they must be allowed to explore.
  • Children must have some control over the direction of their learning;

Tori’s Tots integrate an academic curriculum within our programming as well as focusing on developing essential skills—such as character education, reading, writing, math, STEM-infused technology, art, sensory exposure and health/fitness. With Tori’s Tots, your child plays but also learns.

Developmentally Appropriate Classroom: Teachers build materials and experiences around individual learning rates and styles- nurturing each child’s growth and development.

Positive Guidance: Teachers encourage children to challenge themselves through supportive language.We establish positive methods of redirection, self-control, independence, sense of pride and responsibility.

Center-Based Teaching: Tori’s Tots’ classroom features an array of age-appropriate learning centers (e.g. sensory center, academic center, art center, dramatic play center, ..) to help children establish routine, encourage discovery and reinforce skills.
