My name is Michelle Chavez I was born in Amarillo, Texas and raised in Tucumcari NM and Kenosha County WI. I moved back to Tucumcari in 2009. I am a mother of 5 children and a grandmother of 8. I started my career in life as a Early childhood educator in 1990, I also have worked in healthcare and corrections. I started working here at Turquoise child Development Center in 2012 and took over ownership in 2015.

My name is Gabrielle Perez and I am 26 years Old. I have a five year old daughter who has inspired me to purse a career in early childhood education. Seeing the things she has learned and constantly being surprised by what she knows made me curious of the process that got her there I am currently enrolled in Mesalands Community College earning my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and then I plan on earning my B.A in Elementary Education.

My name is Danielle Horrell. I’m the Infant and toddler teacher for Turquoise Child Development center. I have always loved working with children. I have taken early Education classes to help further my teaching and experience. I was born and raised in Texas and gradated from Permian High School in 2010 I was very into History. I had all 4 of my children in Texas. My children are ages 10, 8, 3 and we moved here to Tucumcari in May of 2021. The job here has been a blessing with allowing me to continue to watch my children grow. My hope and goal with teaching children is to help them expand their Knowledge.

Hi My name is Christy Jones and I am the Assist Teacher in the Preschool room here at Turquoise Child Development Center. I Help teach the children in the preschool room. I have taken early childhood education to further my skills to teach the children. I’m a single mother of two kids and been working in early child education for 15 years. I really enjoy the smiles that I get to put on each child’s face. I am born and raised in Tucumcari New Mexico and graduated from Tucumcari High School.

My name is Alexandra Molina and I work here at Turquoise Child Development center as a Infant teacher. I was born in Lubbock Texas in 1993 and attended Monterrey high school. I later moved to Tucumcari New Mexico when I was 16 years old. Moving here to Tucumcari when I was 16 did me to were I am today. I am engaged and have a son who attends Turquoise Child Development. To me being a mom is one of the most beautiful and amazing things to be. So much so that it has made me want to change my whole career path I’ve always been in retail but now I’m a Early Childhood educator. I love teaching and improving children’s lives everyday.

Filosofía

Turquoise Child Development Center is a child-oriented school. We believe that children learn through play, firsthand experiences, and though the use of a variety of material. Our firsthand experiences will be in the areas of art, music, science, human relationships, etc. Each child is “freedom with responsibility” and with this freedom he can learn and be happy. They will learn by example and doing.

We strive to satisfy and develop the emotional, physical, intellectual, social and creative needs of each child through our love, supportive behavior, and redirection. We encourage children to thing and act independently and make his our her decisions. We believe our environment allows each child and freedom to grow and expand fully.
