Melanie Saiz-Storey Melanie has an office administration and early childhood education background having received an Associate in Office Administration in 2012 and an Associate in Early Childhood Education in 2020 both from Luna Community College. With 7 years of experience in elementary and Pre-K classrooms. During her time in Pre-K, Melanie was an educational assistant / Co-Teacher garnering experience in early childhood education providing a professional background in FOCUS and other programs required by the state of New Mexico. Megan Quintana
Megan has a secretarial, as well as a Special Education background. Megan recently received a dual Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education & Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Previous to Cub Academy Childhood Development Center LLC, Megan worked for Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools as an office Secretary for 7 years and as a Special Education teacher for 1 year, and also for 1 year at Pecos Connections Academy servicing students across the state.
Philosophy
• Play is the work of children. • The safety and overall well-being of each child are our first priority. • The center’s environment should be safe, nurturing, and engaging. • Children can be guided to develop self-control by learning to manage their bodies and emotions. • The learning materials that we choose should be developmentally appropriate, open-ended, and nonbiased. • The curriculum should meet the needs of all learners, including those with special needs and those that speak English as a second language. • Our role as caregivers is to children meet developmentally appropriate milestones through inspired learning. • Children learn best in social settings with hands-on, meaningful, and constructive learning experiences. • Learning experiences should be a balance of the whole group, small group, or individual teacher and child-directed activities. • Children should be assessed on an ongoing basis using a variety of evidence-based methods to determine if they are appropriately meeting curricular objectives. • Cub Academy Childhood Development Center will promote positive feelings of self-worth by emphasizing a peaceful environment. With guidance, children will learn to develop the skills necessary to learn, live together, think divergently, negotiate conflicts, and become culturally sensitive

About our program
“Cub Academy Childhood Development Center LLC is a locally women-owned Childcare Facility. Our childcare team provides high quality care families with children Birth to age 5 and accept State of New Mexico accept assistance and subsidies with little to no co-pays at this time. We also provide NM Pre-k services with a mixed age classroom for children three to five years of age. Our Pre- K Program consists of Montessori based learning allowing your child to learn using their surroundings and personal strengths. Our services include: Bilingual Staff On site childcare before and after Pre K. 6:30 am to 6:30 pm Participant of the free NM Food Program *Our fully licensed & trained staff is ready to care for your child!”
