I am the only teacher as a home based licensed daycare. I have a background in early childhood education, business, family and child services, sped, and reading as well as curriculum and development. I believe children need to be able to explore their environment as much as possible, that outside time is extremely valuable, and that children are more interested in learning when they get options and choices.

Again, my daycare is a child led, teacher guided place where children can learn, grow, and flourish. Providing multiple areas of interest and adapting to the needs of the children as they change is extremely important. Not all children are interested in the same topics, and not all children learn the same way. Meeting children where they are and scaffolding them to their next levels is the goal, helping them succeed in each of their endeavors is my goal.

My location is close to several schools, parks, and shopping areas. It is in a quiet neighborhood and I have very supportive neighbors.

Most of the children I have I keep long term. We are all an extended family. We do celebrations for the big holidays and we do celebrate birthdays on a smaller scale. Mostly we just have a lot of caring and support to offer. As far as learning and development, I use play based learning that is child led. Each child is allowed to explore their own interests and to expand their knowledge in ways that motivate them.
