Pwofesè nou yo

Hi, Thank you for stopping by to look at my program! Don’t let the name fool you I am currently accepting kids of all ages into my program. For the first 6 years of my program, I worked and specialized with infants only. In 2016 life circumstances changed and I opened my program up to kids from birth to 12 as well as extended my hours. I have a child-led play-based program. This doesn’t mean I let the kids run amuck all day long. This means that I let the kids pick activities that bring them joy and interest them to participate in because when we are doing what we are enjoying our minds are primed for learning and retaining. I believe in both full mind and body learning as such we do a range of activities that promote both small and big motor skills, social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, effective communication, boundary setting, and keeping. We work hard to promote kindness to others and ourselves through our actions and words. We participate in basic sign language from infant on up. As well as yoga, reading and music appreciation. I do attempt to do both open-ended and direction-based crafts with my kids to both allow them to freely express themselves and start getting them ready for school where following exact directions are expected. We utilize many sensory items and activities and offer individual spaces for those kiddos who may be overstimulated and need to recenter or just want to have some time alone to read or play. I have completed Circle of Security, Conscious Discipline, and a 3-year social-emotional training program called Rooted in Relationships. I have also taken trauma-informed care training. I am state licensed and current in my first aid and CPR. I participate in the food program meaning the kids get well-rounded state-approved healthy meals and snacks while in my care. I also just enrolled in the elevate program. My job is not to mold your child into who I or society think they should be … no my job is to help your child be the happiest best versions of themselves, to help teach them that they are perfect just the way they are, and to embrace that, to celebrate differences and start giving them the tools they will need in their current and future lives to be happy and successful. kind well-adjusted people.
