I have owned and operated Whitmire Family Child Care since 6/1996. I began child care while stationed at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. I saw the need for quality child care and had a great desire to make a difference in the lives of children. I have held child care licenses thru Military Family Child Care, US Air Force at Ellsworth AFB, Maxell AFB, Keesler AFB, and Offutt AFB. In 2006 I became Nebraska State Licensed along with my Military Family Child Care License Affiliation. In 2008, I switched to solely Nebraska State Licensed. 1988-1994-I was in the US Air Force Reserves (Active Duty 1/1991-10/1991 for Desert Storm).

I am also a Certified Surgical Technologist and have worked for 35 years in various medical roles outside of child care hours.

At Whitmire Family Child Care, I believe every child deserves the very best care in a safe, nurturing and diverse environment. I believe it is important to treat each child as an individual with dignity and respect. It is important to me to help them grow physically and emotionally during their most important developmental ages of their lives. I am honored each time a family entrusts their child to my care.

My program is all about family! My family develops personal relationships with all our families, gaining lifelong friends. I focus on a structured play-based program. I believe children learn best thru play while thriving on structure.
I have a medical background which adds strength to our program when it comes to children’s safety and wellness. I supplement my program with a curriculum provided by Fabulous Provider Teaching Club.
