Program Director Crystal Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Youth and Adult Development from UMSL and is a mother of four. With a lifelong passion for children, she is dedicated to creating an educational environment that nurtures growth and development—a dream she has always held close to her heart. Crystal’s favorite thing to do is to ensure she provides the best support and staff for her students while creating a safe and nurturing environment for their growth.

At Bright Literacy Child Development Center, our childcare philosophy is grounded in the belief that children learn best through active engagement. We embrace the concept of “Learning Through Play,” understanding that children thrive when they can explore, discover, and immerse themselves in hands-on activities that spark their natural curiosity and creativity. Our center is located in Velda City, MO, a close-knit community where our Program Director, Crystal Johnson, grew up. Many of the families in this area have lived here for generations, creating a strong sense of familiarity and connection.
