My name is Tammy and I have been a child daycare provider for going on 30 years. I am married, and we have 3 grown children.

My husband, John, is my helper here at the daycare, when he’s home. He loves to play, and joke around with my kids. He also manages to find opportunities to teach things that are outside, what most would consider, a normal routine in a daycare setting. Kids are very curious and he takes advantage of that, mostly when we are playing outside. He helps with laundry, dishes and naptime, among other things, when he can.

I love getting to know my daycare families and they, most times, become like family to us. We always celebrate the kids’ birthdays individually, as close to their special day as possible.

Holidays are fun here too. At Easter, I give the kids special baskets full of goodies and they get to have individual egg hunts. At Halloween, I always book a campsite at a nearby campground that does trick or treating. The whole campground gets into it, with fun and scary decorations. I invite my kids families to visit, for a safe, exciting and fun experience with their families. At Thanksgiving, I’ve always made homemade bread and give each family a loaf. At Christmas, it’s big here. My tree is full of gifts for the children and personalized stockings, filled with wonderful surprises, are hanging as well. Our children are only little, for 5 short years….I want to give them as much joy, and excitement, while learning, for wonderful memories!

Ubicación

We are located just west of town, near the Green Forest area, at 161 Deer Run Dr. We are on a quiet, gravel subdivision cul-de-sac.

Acerca de nuestro programa

We are a family-oriented daycare. Kids learn through play. Our children are only little for 5 short years. Then it’s off to kindergarten to learn how to sit still, form a line, write their name, and anything else needed to start their first official school learning days of 1st grade. So, during those 5 short years, they are learning so much about the world they live, through outdoor playing, books, imaginative play, role play, dancing, singing, and anything else that comes up through day to day lives of littles. But most importantly, they learn manners and empathy. Without empathy, you have bullies. So, we stop bullying in the very early years up until they go to kindergarten, by teaching them empathy. They also learn to be respectful of each other, and the adults around them, by using manners.
