Maha Shahin is the Director of Crescent Child Care at the Islamic School of Greater Kansas City, bringing over 36 years of experience in early childhood education — including 26 years at ISGKC and 10 years working with children in Canada. She holds a B.A. in Economics and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and is CPR certified. Maha is deeply committed to providing a nurturing, faith-centered environment where children grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
Philosophy
At Crescent Child Care, we believe that education is a partnership between teachers, students, parents, and the community. Our program is rooted in Islamic values, nurturing the whole child — mind, body, and soul. We provide a warm, faith-centered environment where children develop a love of learning alongside Arabic language and Quran instruction. Our goal is to raise confident, balanced individuals who are grounded in their faith, curious about the world, and ready to contribute to their community.

Crescent Child Care is located at 8505 E 99th Street in the Red Bridge/Ruskin area of south Kansas City — a quiet, residential neighborhood that’s easily accessible from major routes including I-435 and Grandview Road. The program is situated on the campus of the Islamic School of Greater Kansas City, giving families the convenience of having both childcare and K-12 education in one familiar, community-centered location.
