Lakaisha Sutherland is the Center Director at Joy & Gladness Children Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri. Lakaisha has also been with Joy & Gladness since 2015. She is presently pursuing a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in Early Childhood Education at Mobely College. Lakaisha has over 15 years of expertise and many certifications, including First Aid/ C.P., Sign Language, and others. Lakaisha loves spending time with the family of her Joy and Gladness. She also looks forward to nurturing the children and maintaining a safe atmosphere.

At our school, we promote healthy physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth in children in partnership with parents and the community to strengthen families. We use positive guidance and re-direction to acknowledge children’s feelings and emotions and provide them with social protocols, problem-solving techniques, self-calming activities, and interest based choices and activites.

Joy & Gladness Children Academy fosters curiosity, creativity, and discovery in a caring, respectful environment. While administrative team teachers stress relationships, teamwork, and respect for all living things, students develop self-confidence, a sense of wonder for the world, a love of discovery, and the ability to solve problems.
