*Vanessa Arnold, Owner/Director

Vanessa has completed over 30 college credit hours in early childhood education from St. Louis community college. She has over 10 years of hands-on experience working in a center. She is CPR/1st Aid trained. She has taken continued education classes to implement a curriculum with an emphasis in social/emotional wellbeing . After having 2 children of her own she decided to open her own center with her mother-in-law. She prides herself in her communication skills, professionalism and attention to detail. She believes in building relationships with her team and the children in the center in order to provide a solid and supportive learning environment.

*Ms. Brittany - Assistant Director

Ms. Brittany has been with us for over 2 years now. She has 4 children and is engaged. She loves to spend time with her family when she is not at work. She has been working in childcare for over 10 years. She has had the pleasure of providing care to children ranging from 6 weeks - 10 years old. She loves that she gets to have a positive impact on your child’s life. She loves to have fun and get messy while teaching the children in her care. She is excited to get to know and develop a bond with all of our families here at Step by Step.

*Mrs. Karen- Preschool Teacher

Mrs. Karen has been our preschool teacher for over 7 years now. She has worked in childcare for over 30 years total. She has completed her bachelor’s degree in special education. She believes children learn in many different ways. This is why she provides learning opportunities for your child in a way that allows them to thrive and succeed in her classroom.

*Ms. Mariah - Assistant Teachers

Ms. Mariah is currently attending St. Charles Community College. She is pursing a degree in Early Childhood Education and a teaching degree for k-3rd grade. Her favorite part of working with children is building meaningful relationships. She finds it very rewarding to share in their victories while they are learning new things. Ms. Mariah finds the best part of her day to be when she gets to hear the children’s laughter and see their happy faces.

*Mrs. Payel - Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher

Ms. Payel obtained her Master’s Degree in Arts from the University of India where she is also from. Most of her experience with children is with infants & toddlers. She has her FA?CPR adult/child/infant certification. She has continued her training by taking classes in Safe Sleep, Milestones Matter, Health & Safety Training and Caring for Vulnerable Children. Ms. Payel finds watching a child learn, grow and meet their milestones to be the most rewarding part of her career. Ms. Payel has a daughter in elementary school. She likes to spend her time with family. Cooking, staying fit, playing badminton and card games are some of the things she enjoys outside of work.

*Ms. Alena - Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher

Ms. Alena has been in childcare for the past 6 years, four of which have been with us at Step by Step. She is experienced with all age groups, but mainly works with infants. Since being a child herself she knew she wanted to work with children. She feels fortunate to be able to live out her dreams daily teaching children and watching them grow mentally, emotionally and physically. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, read, bake, spend time outdoors and paint.

*Ms. Liberty - Assistant infant/toddler teacher

Ms. Liberty is newer in the childcare field, but is by no means unexperienced with children. She is a proud mom of three wonderful children. Being a parent has helped give her valuable experience, patience and a deep understand & love for children. She has continued her training by completing several online courses including safe sleep, health & safety, milestones matter and caring for vulnerable children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, doing arts & crafts with her daughters, and attending her son’s sporting events.

*Ms. Anaka - Assistant Teacher

Ms. Anaka has grew up in a large family and always enjoyed being surrounded by the kids even as she got older. She is committed to creating a classroom environment where students feel safe to learn, explore, be themselves, and have fun along the way. In her free time she enjoys going on adventures with her pets and family!

*We love step by step! They use an app to keep you updated on everything so that is nice to have. The price is competitive for the area. Convenient location. We plan on staying with them.

*My daughter has been going to this center for little over a year she just turned two. I was always nervous about sending my Children to daycares but this center is amazing they work so well with my daughter she loves it everyday. I love the app they use letting me know what she did all day/what she ate all her projects. My daughter is very advanced for her age and I have to give credit to them they don’t just babysit they LEARN and I love it!

*Step By Step Learning Center has been a part of our lives for the past 3 years. Both of my children attended and always looked forward to walking in the doors in the morning and coming home each day to show off their artwork, treasure box prize for good behavior, or the book that Miss Phyllis gave to them during story time. Miss Karen has had such a positive impact on my children’s social and educational development. Every staff is very polite, respectful, and personable. The center if full of imagination, creativity, art, books, toys, and love!

*This place has been the best since the beginning. Teachers and staff are so great. Always a lesson plan and fun teachings for all of the kiddos rather than just coloring and playing. Never an issue and highly recommend.

*Step by step learning is such a welcoming warm environment my son has never been to daycare and he loves the staff there. They keep me updated all day and answers any questions you need through out the day. They really made this transition for me and my son so easy and comfortable we really appreciate them

*My middle daughter has been going to step by step since she was 6months old. I was impressed by the daycare so I added her older sister who at the time was three. I don’t think there is enough words for how grateful I am that Step by Step exists. My oldest struggles with big emotions and she thrived there. Mrs. Karen prepared my oldest for kindergarten to a point that the evaluators were impressed she knew so much. My middle child is currently in Ms. Faiths class (three year old) and I LOVE the activities that are being done. Along with my girls I have my youngest boy in the baby room. Ms. Tiffany does a great job updating me on his progress and talking with me about milestones. Everyone that I have met at drop off and pickup has been great. I can see my kids are loved, taken care of, and learning. Thank you to the staff and owners!

*We’ve been using their daycare for about 4 months and have been very impressed so far! Staff is very nice and communicative. Hours are flexible and price is competitive. Definitely recommend.

*5 stars for Step by Step Learning Center. My 3 year old is having a great time playing and learning to follow rules (nap time is hard for him, but they are working on it). The facility is clean and the staff is awesome. I am very happy with the whole place and recommend them to anyone looking for a great daycare. Lots of activities, plenty of food and new friends to play with, what else could I ask for. They have even helping with potty training!!! *Step by Step Learning Center is amazing! The facility is great, it’s clean and takes all precautions to keeps the kids safe and healthy. We have a 3 year old who attends full day daycare and a 6 year old who attends as needed after school and when there is no school. We are so happy with them and recommend them to anyone looking for a great daycare. They do tons of activities with the kids and send parents updates (with pictures) throughtout the day. They provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Our son loves Ms. Tiffany (one of his fantastic teachers), when he’s “moody” in the morning while being dropped off as soon as he sees her he completely changes and happily runs off. All of the staff is wonderful, they are friendly, patient, and caring. Vanessa, one of the owners, is the nicest person to work with.If you are in need of a great daycare this is your place!

*Step by step learning center is a great learning and family environment. As a first time parent to daycare I couldn’t have picked a better place! I have two girls who love going to step by step. They have so much fun, love the teachers, and our learning so much. I did ALOT of research and comparing centers in my area. Step by step learning center in my opinion is great. Check it out!!
