Amanda, our Primary Educator, brings a strong and specialized professional background to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, is a Certified Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, and has completed the training for her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (120 hours), currently pending testing. Amanda has over six years of experience in administrative and direct social services, supporting children and families impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, CPS involvement, and foster care. This background shapes her trauma-informed, relationship-centered, and holistic approach to early childhood education. She integrates mindfulness practices, fosters secure attachments, supports emotional regulation, and partners with families to ensure a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment that embraces diversity and inclusion.

Welcome to Amanda’s Home Daycare, nestled just outside of downtown Negaunee, MI, where we provide quality care for children ages 0 to 3 1/2 years old; children of older ages are also accepted. We are open year-round, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Earlier drop-offs and later pick-ups are available upon agreement between families and the program.

Our licensed home daycare offers a warm, family-like atmosphere where children feel safe, loved, and inspired to learn through play. We follow a play-based, child-directed curriculum influenced by the HighScope approach and other research-backed methods, ensuring that each child receives developmentally appropriate activities.

We also emphasize language exposure, incorporating English, Spanish, and American Sign Language (ASL) into our routines, which supports cognitive growth and boosts confidence in young learners.

Children enjoy engaging daily circle times with books, colors, shapes, numbers, and letters, building foundational skills for future success. With a large outdoor play area and regular walking field trips on a nearby wooded trail, children enjoy fresh air, nature, and hands-on exploration.

Our daycare also provides breakfast, snacks, diapers, and wipes, ensuring a convenient daily care experience for families.

We also have 3 part-time staff members to ensure our program runs smoothly and the children in our care are receiving personalized care.

Admisyon

1. Review our Policies and Procedures and decide if our program is right for you and your family!
2. Submit a non-refundable registration fee of $50
3. Schedule a tour
4. Complete the paperwork in your Enrollment Packet and return to the provider. If submitted virtually, originals will be required on your child’s first day.
5. Pay the invoice for your child’s first week, prior to their first day.
6. Prepare for your child’s first day at Amanda’s Home Daycare!
