Heather Cox, Director/Teacher

Heather holds multiple degrees in Teaching, Child Development, Human Development and Education. She received her A.S. degree from Rochester Community College in 1996, her Bachelors degree from Hope International University in Human Development and Education in 2001 and her Masters degree in Teaching with an Early Childhood emphasis in 2021.

Heather has taught Kindergarten and Preschool for over 25 years in some capacity. Heather began Little Sparrows Preschool in the fall of 2022 when she left her full time teaching position. It has been her dream to start a Christ-centered preschool where the love of Jesus is shared with children and their families. Her favorite thing about what she does is sharing her love of learning with the children she interacts with daily. It is a privilege and honor to have a small part in their educational journey.

Our onboarding philosophy combines a play-based, child-led Kindergarten readiness approach. In addition, our additional philosophy emphasizes creating a loving, Christ-centered environment where children learn through hands-on experiences and discover their unique purpose.

We are located in the Kentwood area right off of 28th street near the Woodland mall.

At our school, we teach early literacy concepts, Bible, math and art through our play-based, child-led curriculum. Open-ended materials are provided to invite discovery and learning.

2. Tour our program Come see what makes Little Sparrows Preschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application If you’re interested in enrolling, submit an application by selecting Apply to enroll. If this option if not available, you can message the program director. Please do not apply to enroll until you have set up a tour and visited the program.
