Our Teachers
At Pretty Wings Child Care, Ms. Alston brings a unique and inspiring approach to early childhood education. As a visually impaired educator, she encourages children to explore the world through all of their senses — touching, listening, smelling, and discovering the beauty in every experience. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child learns in their own special way, and she gently guides them to use curiosity, creativity, and compassion in all they do.
Ms. Alston loves watching her students grow each day and takes joy in their warm, loving personalities. Her classroom is filled with laughter, music, and a sense of wonder that helps every child feel seen, heard, and valued.
Philosophy
I believe children learn best through curiosity, exploration, and meaningful interaction. I provide opportunities for children to explore books independently, helping them build confidence, language skills, and a love of reading at their own pace.
I also create hands-on group activities where children learn by working together, asking questions, and discovering new ideas. All experiences are thoughtfully planned to be developmentally appropriate, supporting each child’s age, stage, and individual growth.
My goal is to create a safe, engaging environment where children feel empowered to explore, collaborate, and grow.

About our program
Our program is designed to give children a strong start through early school readiness and a deep focus on learning and education. We intentionally nurture language development, helping children build communication skills, vocabulary, and confidence from an early age.
What makes us unique is our whole-child approach. We combine structured learning with rich sensory experiences, allowing children to explore and understand the world using all of their senses. Through hands-on activities, meaningful conversations, and engaging lessons, we prepare children academically, socially, and developmentally for long-term success.
We believe early experiences matter — and we are committed to building a foundation that helps every child thrive.
