I am Teresa Irvine and have close to 30 years experience in childcare. Taking my young sons to daycare made me understand how hard it is as a parent to choose the right childcare and provider. But my Associate Degree in Applied Science/Child Development and ongoing training and classes helps me create a positive, safe, loving, nurturing, supportive, educational environment for every child that I care for. Opening up my home makes it more personal and family oriented.

My Program is a mix of a couple of styles, play-based (most of the time), and small groups (teacher directed)-which involves different areas in the home that they can either explore themselves or I set up different small groups such as Art, Sensory, Large Motor, Small Motor/Manipulatives, Blocks, etc. We talk about the Weather, Shapes, Colors, Numbers, more as an open ended activity, Lots of singing throughout the day, and of course outside time!

My program is unique because I’m a family group home so I make the children feel like they’re part of my family. The children get to know my family and vice versa. I can have up to six children at one time, from 6 weeks old all the way to 9, 10 years old. The special thing about the age differences is the older children like to help with the young ones and learn to be gentle and it prepares them for their own future parenthood especially if they were an only child.
