At Christian Montessori School of Ann Arbor, our dedicated team of educators is passionate about helping each child discover and develop the unique gifts God has given them. Our teachers are trained and certified in Montessori philosophy and are committed to creating nurturing, engaging classrooms where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.
Led by Head of School Joseph Henkel, our staff brings together experienced Montessori educators, caring classroom assistants, and enrichment specialists who work collaboratively to support each child’s academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development. We believe that strong relationships between teachers, children, and families are the foundation of a successful educational experience.
Our classrooms serve children from infancy through elementary, providing continuity and a consistent, caring environment throughout their early educational journey. Through hands-on Montessori learning, outdoor exploration, practical life experiences, STEM activities, music, art, Spanish, and Christian values woven throughout the day, our team strives to help every child build confidence, independence, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
We consider it a privilege to partner with families and are committed to knowing every child as an individual, celebrating their strengths, and helping them become who God created them to be.

At Christian Montessori School of Ann Arbor, we believe every child is uniquely created by God with incredible potential waiting to be discovered. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of learning through an authentic Montessori education rooted in Christian values. This means providing an education that nurtures the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Following the Montessori philosophy, our classrooms are thoughtfully prepared to encourage independence, curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Children are given the freedom to explore purposeful, hands-on materials at their own pace while being guided by caring teachers who recognize and support each child’s individual strengths and interests.
Faith is woven naturally into the life of our school through daily prayer, Bible lessons, chapel, and the values of kindness, respect, compassion, and service. We strive to create a community where children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to become the people God created them to be.
Learning extends far beyond the classroom. Students enjoy outdoor exploration, gardening, practical life experiences, STEM and robotics, music, art, Spanish, and opportunities to care for animals and the environment. These meaningful experiences help children develop confidence, responsibility, problem-solving skills, and a deep appreciation for God’s creation.
Our goal is not simply to prepare children for the next grade, but to equip them with the character, independence, and joy of learning that will serve them throughout their lives.

Christian Montessori School of Ann Arbor is conveniently located on the west side of Ann Arbor, making it easily accessible for families from Ann Arbor, Dexter, Scio Township, Chelsea, Saline, Ypsilanti, and the surrounding communities.
Our campus offers a peaceful setting where children can enjoy spacious classrooms, beautiful outdoor learning environments, gardens, and natural play spaces that encourage exploration and discovery. We are just minutes from major roads and are conveniently located for parents commuting to Ann Arbor or the surrounding areas.
Families appreciate the welcoming, close-knit community that our location fosters. While our campus provides a quiet and secure environment, we are still close to local parks, libraries, and community resources that enrich our educational experiences through field trips and hands-on learning opportunities.
