Hi, I’m Priya! As a second-generation family childcare provider, I have the unique privilege of continuing a tradition that began in the very home where I grew up. Born and raised in Potomac, Maryland, I attended schools in the Winston Churchill cluster followed by University of Maryland Global Campus. This home has always been more than just a house, it has been a place filled with laughter, lifelong friendships, family traditions, and a strong sense of community. Today, I have the honor of sharing that same environment with the children and families I serve. My goal is to create the kind of childhood I was fortunate enough to experience—one filled with outdoor adventures, meaningful relationships, imaginative play, home-cooked meals, and a true sense of belonging. Whether we’re exploring nature in our backyard, taking neighborhood wagon walks, celebrating the changing seasons, or simply enjoying everyday moments together, I intentionally create experiences that inspire curiosity, kindness, confidence, and joyful learning. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, loved, and valued. That’s why I strive to provide a warm, nurturing environment where every child is known, encouraged, and celebrated as an individual. My home is a place where children can build friendships, develop independence, discover a love of learning, and create memories they’ll carry with them for years to come. It is incredibly meaningful to open the same front door that welcomed me throughout my own childhood and now welcome the next generation into a place they can truly call their second home. My hope is that every family who joins Precious Time Home Childcare feels the same warmth, trust, and sense of community that has been part of this home for generations.

Philosophy
Here at Precious Time Family Childcare, we practice play-based learning and social-emotional development. This helps engage cognitive, physical, and social aspects in our young ones. In our care, children learn developmentally appropriate and interactive activities through art, music, sensory, structured/free play, and the list goes on… Our mission is to encourage the growth of expression, individuality, and social interaction. We believe strongly in providing a loving, nurturing, and safe environment for every child enrolled with us. No matter how long their length of stay, we work hard to provide your precious ones a precious time.

About our program
At Precious Time Home Childcare, our mission is to provide a warm, nurturing, and trustworthy home where children feel safe, loved and inspired to learn everyday. We believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, meaningful relationships, outdoor exploration, and opportunities to discover the world through play. We intentionally created a mixed-age learning community where children learn alongside one another, develop confidence, practice kindness, and build lifelong skills that extend far beyond academics. Through open-ended materials, hands-on experience, and individualized learning, every child is encouraged to explore, create, imagine, and grow at their own unique pace. Our goal is to partner with families by providing exceptional early childhood education and quality childcare for families while honoring the individuality of every child.
We envision a childcare environment where children experience the comfort and security of home while receiving a rich educational foundation built on relationships, curiosity, and joyful learning.
We strive to cultivate lifelong learners who are confident, compassionate, independent, creative thinkers and problem-solvers. By embracing mixed-age learning, child-led practices, and play-based education, we aim to foster a community where every child is both a learner or a teacher.
Our vision is for children to leave our program not only prepared for kindergarten but equipped with empathy, resilience, leadership, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.
