Melissa Rivas-

Melissa graduated from Towson University in 2016. In 2011, after graduating high school, Melissa started working as a teacher’s aide and in only 6 months she earned her Child Development Associate and became a lead at Twinbrook Christian DayCare in Rockville.

At KinderKind Child Care, we provide a safe and nurturing environment. Every child is unique and learns in its own way. KinderKind Child Care provides a welcoming home-like setting for all children of all abilities, needs, interests and learning styles. We strive for excellence in meeting the needs of children and their families for nurturing, growth and development, relationships and understanding. I believe that each child is unique, and they can learn in their own way. My program offers child initiated and teacher directed activities. My values and beliefs about children are deeply rooted in the history of Early Childhood Education and include activities that reflect the diversity of the children and families that are enrolled in my program, their primary language and cultural background. I believe in the value of human diversity and the fair treatment of all people. It is our number one goal to provide the kind of environment and the kind of influences that encourage all children (including children under IFSP/IEP Plans) to become creative, independent, responsible, well rounded, self-directed adults who can make decisions for themselves.
