Hi there! My name is Patricia Rivera, and I’ve been working in childcare for around 30 years now. I started my career as a certified teacher in Mexico and loved every moment of it. However, when I moved to the United States, I found myself working in church childcare, and it was there that I discovered my true passion for early childhood education.

I must say that I have been very fortunate to work with so many children and families over the years. I have had the privilege of watching children grow and learn, and it’s truly an amazing experience. Through my work, I’ve learned that every child is unique and has their own way of learning and discovering the world around them.

When my family and I bought our house here in South Bend, I saw it as an opportunity to start my own childcare program. I wanted to create a safe and nurturing environment where children could learn and grow. And so, I began my journey as a small business owner.

Starting my own program was not without its challenges, but it was also incredibly rewarding. I have had the pleasure of working with amazing families and watching their children grow and develop. It’s been an honor to be a part of their lives and to help them on their educational journey.

Overall, my experience in childcare has been incredibly fulfilling. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s life, and I’m grateful for every moment I’ve spent in this field.

Filosofía

At our childcare, we follow a play-based approach that prioritizes learning through exploration and creativity. We believe that children learn best when they’re having fun, so we’ve built our curriculum around activities that engage their imaginations and encourage them to explore their world.

In addition to our play-based approach, we’re also committed to providing a Spanish immersion program. We believe that early exposure to a second language can have lifelong benefits, and we’re passionate about giving children the opportunity to learn Spanish in a fun and engaging environment.

Our slogan, “We learn as we play,” captures our belief that learning and play are intertwined. When children are engaged in play, they’re not only having fun, but they’re also building important skills and knowledge that will serve them throughout their lives.

Manzanita is located in the charming area of Indiana, in a beautiful family home that provides a safe, warm, and nurturing environment. Our space features a large backyard with a playground and areas designed specifically for children to enjoy free play, movement, and outdoor exploration.

Inside, we have two educational classrooms dedicated to our childcare and learning program. Each space is designed to foster confidence, creativity, and comfort, with a wide selection of toys, books, and educational materials that inspire learning through play.

We are conveniently located near Harrison Elementary School, making drop-off, pick-up, and our After School program easy for busy parents. We are the perfect choice for families seeking high-quality care and a strong educational program in the afternoons.
